Â
Notes and Storylines
Â
» Army split a pair of matchups vs. Fairfield a season ago. The game serves as a reunion between Black Knight Pitching Coach Mike Cole and Fairfield Head Coach Bill Currier. Cole played for Currier at Vermont from 1998 to 2001, and also coached on Currier's staff at both Vermont (02-04, 09) and Fairfield (13-17).
Â
» In Saturday's sweep at Lafayette, William Parker had go-ahead home runs in both contests. A two-run home run in the sixth inning gave Army a 4-3 lead that stood in the seven-inning daycap, before the junior DH delivered a three-run home in the ninth inning of the nightcap. Parker was named Patriot League Player of the Week March 24. In addition to his two-clutch homers, the Hopedale, Mass. native was a combined 6-for-17 against Lehigh and Lafayette across the four-game weekend, and totaled eight RBIs in the four games, including four in the nightcap at Lafayette.Â
Â
» Andrew Berg tossed a career-high 8.1 innings in Army's Game 2 doubleheader win at Navy March 15. From the third inning into the ninth, Berg retired 17 of 18 batters faced. One week later in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader at Lafayette, Berg went seven innings and collected a career-high nine strikeouts, a mark that leads the team in a single game this year.
Â
» Bryce Brownlee tossed a career-high seven innings in Army's win at Lehigh in Game 1 of Sunday's doubleheader. It was his first career complete game and the second complete game from an Army arm in 2025. Brownlee collected four strikeouts, and retired 12 batters in order from the third through the sixth innings and earning the win. He had allowed just one hit going into the final inning of the matchup.
