WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point Men's Rugby will open its 2025 CRAA Playoff campaign Saturday against Mount St. Mary's (MD). Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m. at Anderson Rugby Complex, Warrior Field.
The Black Knights finished 10-3 overall in the 2024-25 regular season, and 4-1 in conference play. They went on a seven-fixture winning streak from October 12 to March 8.
Army, a No. 4 seed, will face fifth-seeded Mount St. Mary's. The Black Knights last saw that program in 2022, a 34-0 win for Army. A balanced Mount St. Mary's team comes into West Point, with a strong kicking game as well as stellar forwards and backs.
The live stream can be found here, and the full playoff bracket can be found here. Saturday's winner will face the winner between top-seeded Life and No. 8-seed Davenport.
Coach's Corner
"We're laser focused on reaching a new best this Saturday and know we'll need to do so to extend our season against a very good Mount St. Mary's Team. I've loved our team's hunger and drive all year, climbing at a rapid rate consistently. I believe in our ability to take another step forward Saturday," said head coach Matt Sherman.
Cadet's Corner
"It's been a long road to get to the first round of playoffs, and a long time since we've played at Warrior Field. We are confident in our ability and excited to leave it all out on the pitch," said Howard Heller.
"We're looking forward to the challenge this weekend. Lots of preparation and hard work has gone into these past two weeks, making for a good match. Excited and grateful to play for another national championship," said Nathan Gould.
"Our team is looking forward to a good test this weekend from Mount St. Mary's. We have been working diligently on our skills and have been intensely focusing on getting better. We are fully bought into the challenge that this weekend may present and are ready to showcase our best performance on Warrior Field," said Charles Rolenc.
"We are excited for the opportunity to play at home on Saturday. The Mount is a good team, and it will be a battle on Warrior Field. We are confident in our ability to achieve a new best this weekend and take care of business," said Elijah Manges.
